"I have been wanting to try dressmaking for a long time but have been too nervous to give it a go. The apron kit from Sew Ab Fab and the great YouTube tutorial from Caroline soon took those nerves away and I couldn’t believe I had managed to make a beautiful denim apron, with crossover straps and a pocket no less, over the course of a weekend. I’ve since made another apron as a birthday present for my Auntie. The kit takes the worry away about selecting the right fabric, needles and threads as they have all been carefully chosen for you. There is a really useful top tips sheet to accompany the pattern too. This first project has given me, a total novice, the confidence to try my next project, the February kit – Slow Pants, I can’t wait to give them a go! "

" I just love these sewing boxes! I love the thought that goes into selecting the right pattern, the ideal fabric, and all the bits and bobs you’ll need to finish the project off. I’ve almost lost track of the number of times I’ve given up on something because I couldn’t find a button the right size and to finish it off, or the right length of zip. Or even not started something I wanted to make because it would involve a trip out to get the right needle or thread or some elastic. Now there's no excuse as it’s all there, in the box You can just open it and sew :-) And with Caroline’s sewing notes and videos to help with the tricky bits, everything feels achievable.

I love that each box comes so prettily packaged with tissue paper and ribbon, it feels like a real treat to open it, and then of course I can’t wait to get started sewing!

I love that you can buy as and when you want, no sign up required. If there’s a box you don’t fancy, you don’t have to buy (although I have to admit that hasn’t happened yet…) . I love Caroline's eye for detail and her fabric choices are perfect. I love the obvious care and thought that goes into creating each box. I love that there is a choice of colourways to suit different tastes. And I love the anticipation when a new box is released to see what the project is. They are always great value, and with patterns I know I’ll use over and over again.

In particular, I love my first Sew Ab Fab project, the Soho coat. It’s become a firm favourite this winter. The fabric is so soft and snuggly, the lining sets it off perfectly, and the button is just the ideal finishing touch. I wear it every time I have to brave the elements and it keeps me so toasty and warm, and it looks great too! What more could you ask from a sewing project?"

"I have been looking for a new sewing project for a while but am always intimidated by the choice of fabrics and patterns. I don't want to spend money to find I have brought the wrong fabric for the garment. This is where Sew Ab Fab worked perfectly for me. I was able to attempt my first ever coat without having to worry about fabric choices etc. This kit came complete with EVERYTHING needed to make the garment even including sewing machine needles and a lovely label to finish off the garment. I was a little scared about the challenge facing me but with the handy tips sheet included I was able to navigate my way through. Caroline really has thought of everything.

I love the fact that this is not a subscription service and I can pick and choose boxes as and when I want a new challenge. Thank you Sew Ab Fab. "

"I started sewing recently and was sent this kit as a gift. I am so happy with it. The box was beautifully wrapped and had everything I needed to make my pjs. The pattern was easy to follow and I managed to make a beautiful pair of pj bottoms. I am going to use the pattern again to make more."
