Dates available: Sunday 6th November: 10:00 - 16:30 // £65 Have you mastered your basic patchwork blocks and now want to try something a little more adventurous? Well, this is the class for you. In this one-day workshop we take the mystery out of modern patchwork and hopefully kick start your creative side. You will make a beautiful cushion sized quilt top which will teach you how to: applique a heart and create half triangles to make a star block. We will cover all the skills needed for you to go home and produce beautiful patchwork items (quilts/table runners/cushions) for all your friends and family. A full day packed with tips and inspiration. The topics we aim to cover in this lesson: Fabric Terminology Handling your fabric Rotary Cutting - Equipment and use Basic Sewing Machine Use Achieving an accurate 1/4” seam Pressing Half Triangle Blocks Raw edge fusible applique Materials Needed: 5 x Fat (50cm x 55cm) or Skinny (25cm x 110cm) quarters of coordinating or contrasting cotton fabric 15cm square of red cotton fabric for your heart Thread that blends with your fabric choice Red Machine Embroidery Thread All materials are available to purchase in store. Materials included in the cost of the class: Bondaweb Tear away stabliser We have sewing machines for you to use but if you would like to bring your own please advise us at the time of booking. If bringing your own machine, a 1/4” foot would be useful, but not essential. Refreshments - Tea, coffee and delicious cake are included in your lesson, but for this lesson you will also need to bring a pack lunch.
